About Newport Brass

History

Brasstech, Inc. was founded in 1987 by the father-son duo, Ross and Geoffrey Escalette, who identified a need in the plumbing industry for high-quality, reasonably priced products. They were driven by a commitment to craftsmanship and quality, typically reserved for more expensive offerings.

In 1989, Brasstech introduced Newport Brass, a premium line of solid brass faucets and fixtures. During the 1990s, the company expanded its capabilities by incorporating multi-operational machinery and advanced finishing techniques, including Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD), a cutting-edge finishing technology. Newport Brass distinguished itself as one of the first brands in the industry to offer a wide range of finish options, a feature that continues to define the brand.

In 2002, Brasstech, Inc. was acquired by Masco Corporation, a global leader in the design, manufacture, and distribution of branded home improvement and building products. This acquisition marked a significant milestone in Brasstech’s journey, positioning the company for continued growth and success.

Further expansion occurred in 2004 when Masco merged another of its subsidiaries, Ginger, with Brasstech. Ginger, founded in 1983 by Alan and Marc Bickler, established itself as an industry leader in designing solid brass bathroom accessories.

Today, Brasstech, Inc. operates under two brands, Newport Brass and Ginger, offering a diverse range of kitchen and bath fixtures and accessories spanning from mid to luxury price points. The company's growth from modest family-owned businesses to nationally recognized brands is a testament to its commitment to integrity, quality craftsmanship, and consumer-driven product innovation. As a part of Masco, Brasstech continues to lead the luxury kitchen and bath industry, providing solutions that enhance and beautify living spaces.
